MASTERPIECE SUNDAY--Life in Christ in Art
This Sunday, January 29th is a very important Masterpiece Sunday for our church. First of all, during worship we will be finishing up our series Resonate. In it we have explored the 4 A's of staying in tune with God's will and call for our church:
- God's ASSIGNMENT
- Our ALIGNMENT
- God's ANOINTING
- God's AUTHORITY (for the Assignment)
We will be led in worship by guest leader Stefan Van Voorst from the Upper Room and our own Melissa Briggs. Kimberly Mills, a new artist in our church family will be painting a special piece during and for our service, and we will be welcoming our newest Mission Partners. And, of course, please come early to share in some great breakfast pastries from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
In addition, after the service we will be going downstairs for a quick pizza lunch and then coming back upstairs for our first Gallery Congregational Meeting. The purpose of this meeting will be 3-fold:
- A State of the Church Address from Pastor Brad
- A financial report from our own Doug Strandness
- Election of The Gallery's first Leadership Team
- NOTE: there will be childcare for this meeting.
LISTENING TO GOD after-church potluck
Last winter The Gallery started an annual event to help leadership hear what you might be hearing from God. So, after worship on Sunday, Feb. 12 (noonish), we will gather for an all-church potluck at the Obama School where we will share a meal then break into groups and discuss where we saw God moving last year, where we see God moving now, and what do we sense God calling us toward this next year. Hope you'll join us!
